I'm hoping that someone can help find out what became of the above named lady after 1932?
Alice Mary BINDING was, according to her birth certificate, born in Barton Regis Workhouse, Bristol, on 24 June 1896. Mother was Selina BINDING, single woman, a domestic servant. Her father was not named but there is very little doubt he was (Charles) James SPRY aka SPRY-PALMER, a travelling actor/musician.
In 1901 Alice was in Horfield, Bristol, listed as Mary A, and being cared for along with several other children by an Amy Hoare. Mother Selina was working as a servant fairly nearby in St Michael, Bristol.
In 1911 I believe I have Alice in Chorley Wood, Hertfordshire, working as a general domestic servant. Selina has not yet been found in 1911 but I believe her to have been in London.
31st August 1916, Charles James Spry PALMER and Selina BINDING were married in St Pancras Register Office. He stated he was a widower (but in fact I believe he had a wife living in New Zealand).
In 1932 Alice was informant on her mother's death certificate and signed herself A.M. SPRY-PALMER. Her father James died in 1924, and both parents died in Pancras Registration District.
I can find no further trace of her after 1932 in the BMD indexes. Her mother Selina was my great-grandmother's sister, and as far as I know there was no family contact with Alice, who was known to the family as 'May' after 1932.
Can anyone suggest a next step? She would have been a 36 in 1932, and apparently unmarried at that time.

Hi,
You may well have seen this and may or may not be anything to do with your Spry Palmer as its in USA.
Its an entry in the divorce proceedings in the San Francisco Call newspaper dated 17 Sept 1903 stating suit for divorce, filed yesterday, Bertha Agnes Palmer from Charles James Spry Palmer for desertion.
Can attach the clipping if your interested, just let me know.
Shelly
(I know this is totally off track from your request for info on Alice, sorry)

Hi Shelly
I would be very interested to see the clipping please. I have him in Canada in 1896 and then currently no information until 1911, so he could well have been in California.
thank you, Marion

Thank you very much. It seems I will be learning about research in California next! I would be hoping to find another sighting of him to confirm it's the same guy, but it certainly isnt a common combination of names.
Again thank you for your help :)

Selina has not yet been found in 1911 but I believe her to have been in London.
If you look on http://www.1911census.co.uk/ and search for Selina born Bristol in 1866 and then scroll through the results you might spot one that is an obvious mistranscription of her surname. GF
