Seeking info on John P
Any clues?
What kind of info and what kind of "clues"? You need to be more specific and tell us what info you are looking for and what you already have
That surname is frequently mis-spelt so you need to provide the following details
What are the children's names and birthyears
Who was his wife and when and where did they marry
Do you have a copy of the marriage cert
Were they domiciled in the IOM or Liverpool. If living in the IOM - dependent on what info you are looking for, your post may not be appropriate to the Lancashire board
What census info do you already have?
-
He apparently married an Elizabeth Brem in the IOM and died 1851-1861.Given that he named his first son Myles I favour the following extracted baptism on the IGI.John Postlethwaite baptised at St Peter Liverpool on the 14th of October 1821 to parents Miles and Ann Postlethwaite.
Regards
William Russell Jones.

As for John being in prison in 1841,
I wonder if he was the Jonnie Postlethwaite, mentioned as blowing his bugle to call out his friends,he was an apprentice painter, and a member of the Sawrie family,a ring leader imprisoned for his part in the copper riots, could get interesting,
1840
to see further information ,you need to go to Wikepedia and Manx notebook,Francis I believe is the good person who has written a lot of the facts here,so without her permission I will say no more, you can read it yourself

The name Miles /Myles comes from Marthys family, and continues , the naming pattern stands out on the igi for the Isle of Man,
