Title: Beveridges of Fife
Post by: Mr Marr-Mclaren on Monday 17 January 11 13:32 GMT (UK)
I am trying to find out more about Thomas Beveridge, my four times g grandfather. All I know he was born around 1800, probably in fife, he married  Catherine Galloway in 1830 and had two children in Kinghorn Fife. His wife is listed as a widow on the 1851 census, and cannot find him on 1841. Thomas Beveridge was a merchant seaman, as was his son Henry.

I would love to know where he was born, and find out where he died, as I cannot find any death certificate either. It's possible he died at sea, but have found nothing like that, though maybe I have looked in the wrong places.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm brand new to this (rootschat) but I have recently found a Janet Beveridge born 1786 in Monimail, Fife.  Not sure if that's a potential sibling?  Am still checking that one out for my tree - could have marrieda Heggie around 1801?

Regards,

dcm

Hi dcm and welcome to RC & the fife board.  there are hundreds of Beveridges around - I have a few myself so not necessarily directly related!

Mr Marr - no sign of death in the MI's (pre 1855) for Kinghorn. cant find on fife death index either although there are couple of possibles outside Kinghorn.
