Title: Boldon Sanitorium, East Boldon

My mother died of TB in Boldon Sanitorium on 7th March 1955, as far as I can remember it was somewhere opposite the greyhound stadium. Can anyone confirm this I can't find any maps which would show this.

I just googled "Boldon Sanatorium" and came up with several hits so one might show the exact location for you.  I think there have been other posts about this too so I have no doubt that someone will come up with an aswer for you.

Near the site of the Stadium Garage, Newcastle Road. Post Code SR51RP which can be seen on 1919-1926 map at  http://gis.durham.gov.uk/website/interMAP/viewer.htm

I had driven past numerous times to try to find it but I was only 6 when my mam died and my recollections were a bit vague.

I know this is an old post but in case.

Yes it was opposite the greyhound stadium to the left hand side of stadium garage looking from the greyhound stadium side, one of the buildings is right on the road site so you cannot miss it
