Lord? But not sure
Many thanks Jaye

Rowe is a common Somerset name.
-
It could be Rood.
-
It could be worth trying FreeREG or another site to see if there is a marriage in that parish for George and Martha (leave surname blank) up to 20 years before the baptism. Maybe there will be a Cord/Lord/Rood/Rowe or other marriage to fit.
All the best

I see Woods for the second couple, but I think it's the first one that we're being asked about. Lord looks a reasonable bet, but it's very unclear.

Hi, is Ripton the parish, and the year 1760?? If so there is a puzzle on Freereg ( you may have found it) there is a marriage for a George Rood and duplicate for Reed to Martha Willett. There is a witness Joseph Reed, is his signature legible??
Then the baptism is duplicated on Freereg with the surnames Lord and Rowe, hope this helps Dave.
