Title: Sarah A Buckley marriage 1867 Doncaster
Post by: noddie on Monday 10 January 11 04:18 GMT (UK)
Hi everyone
I was wondering if some kind person who might have access to the St George's Doncaster marriages could do a check for me of a marriage for David Wood to Sarah A Buckley, in 1867.  I would love to have any info on this marriage including witnesses if possible.  I believe Sarah married twice also. 2nd to William Conway also of Doncaster.
 :D
Thanks heaps
Gwen

don't have marriage .. but I have burial records for St Georges, Doncaster. A quick look finds ... 23 Conway's / 24 Buckley's / 170 Wood's. The burial records cover years 1557 - 1890

Hi Gwen

26 November 1867 David Wood bachelor aged 38 occ labourer married Sarah Buckley aged 26 a spinster.  Address for both was given as Frenchgate in Doncaster.  David's father was named as Joseph Wood occ labourer and Sarah's father was named as James Buckley occ waterman.  They both signed their names.
The witnesses were Luke Hirst (signed) and Eliza Hutton (mark)

Hi there
I would imagine at least one would be mine.  Thankyou heaps for that.  :D

My Sarah remarried as David died and she became Mrs Sarah Conway b 1842 Doncaster md Wm Conway Jun quarter 1894 Doncaster.  Do not have the details of her marriage and not sure if her father James Buckley was still alive.  Sadly I cannot find Sarah or her brother Henry b 1834 Doncaster on the 1841-1851 census or even James their father., but I guess they could have been on the waterways, as James was a waterman.  Still keep looking and would love to find them as Henry is my 2nd Great grandfather.  Would love to uncover them.
Great to hear from you.
Cheers Gwen

Hi again Gwen

Oops sorry, I forgot to give you the most important bit of information.

Both William Conway's and Sarah Ann's father's were deceased and unfortunately the vicar did not enter any other information about them such as their names or occupations.  At least that confirms that James was not alive in 1894.

You are brilliant.  Thank you so much for that.  I did not have the marriage info for Sarah to William and truly appreciate you checking this for me.  Fantastic.  Let me know if I can help with anything in NZ records are not great but you can find various info.  Now just need to find Sarah on earlier census.

Cheers for now

Gwen
