Eric Bradwell, (1908-1988) a well-known playwright and actor in NZ, has several mentions on Google, PapersPast etc, but I cannot find where he ended up.
Have searched Burial Locator and NZSG Index, but no leads.
Can anyone see a death notice for him, or any other clue to his whereabouts ???

Did you have local knowledge or is there a wide-search search engine facility on that site?

Nothing special. I live in Hawke's Bay so I just check the Hastings, Napier and Central HB council websites. I sort of assume that other rootschatters check their local council websites and eventually someone comes across the deceased. This time it was me.
Here's the website I start at

Hi Beg,
I'm very glad you checked your local sites - and found my man :D
I had checked Wellington, Palmerston North and Auckland, because that's where most other family members were - but Hawkes Bay was a new direction.
Thanks for your link to sites - I had been using
http://www.clanfraser.org.nz/genealogy/cemeterylinks.html
I find all of these sites difficult to follow - when will someone create an index of all Cemeteries listed alphabetically to help people with the name of a cemetery but no idea of which region it is in ???

Eric Bradwell lived with his family in Napier (near Hawkes Bay) for many years until his death. He has a son and two daughters living in New Zealand, along with their children and grandchildren. He was my grandfather.

Hello ahoo, and welcome to RootsChat.
Eric Bradwell was in a family tree I was growing for a friend some years ago.
I no longer have access to it so cannot help you with any further details, but as already mentioned there are several references to him on Google, PapersPast etc.
