I friends I have just found a member of my husbands family that went to New Zealand in 1923 on the Suffolk.
His name is William Edgar he was 25 years of age and went to Port Chalmers. His trade was a coal trimmer.
Can anyone tell me how to research New Zealand records as they are different to Australia and England

Hi Gooseylucy
The resource section at top of page has excellent references for what ever area you want
eg
BMD online
https://www.bdmhistoricalrecords.dia.govt.nz/Search/Search.aspx?Path=%2FqueryEntry.m%3Ftype%3Ddeaths
to look for death, don't suppose there was a middle name?
also to look for probate

William Edgar was born in 1898 West Derby Lancashire United Kingdom
I have applied for a death certificate for William Edgar aged 61 as I think this
might be him. This should be able to give me a marriage if possible. William did not have
a middle name.
