hi, I'm trying to find my grandfather Edward Wilson, born 1877, had a brother Edmund.
Ive searched but am unable to find any trace of him, don't no his parents name.
he married ? and had Edward and Arthur, the mother died, he then married my Nana Margaret train or and they had 11 children.
he died in gateshead Durham in 1956.
the only info Ive been able to get is that the family was from the Midlands, he was from a family of stonemasons.

The simplest thing to do would be to buy his marriage cert ,it should give his fathers details, and his occupation,it would be a very good starting point for you as you do not know where he was born, family history isn't so difficult but every one has at some point bought important certificates, ask around your family someone may actuayl have them tucked away in a drawer, you will glean enough information from them to get started, and then you will get a lot more help from rootschatters, with far more knowledge than me,

There is no death registered for an Edward Wilson in Gateshead in 1956. The nearest is in 1957, but he was born in 1889.
