Eugene Doyle went missing from Wallaroo, South Australia, circa 1890. Anyone know of him? May have changed his name, may have gone to Broken Hill, as he was a miner.

There is a "Missing Friends Notice" in the South Australian Police Gazette January 3rd 1894 which refers to a Eugene Doyle a labourer from Ireland who left home about 3 years ago from Wallaroo and left a deserted wife and child and nothing has been heard of him. In the description of Eugene it says that he is 40 years old and that he expressed his desire to try his luck at one of the gold fields.

He was clearly a family man with a wife and adult children in QLD.
So not the missing man we are looking for.

Hi Aussie1947, This is my Eugene. He left his wife, Mary (nee) McGann and a baby daughter, Lily Ann Doyle (my grandmother) in Wallaroo. Don't think he ever met his only child (with Mary). I have searched all the records for each state of australia, but can not find a death for him. I now think he must have gone overseas, perhaps to the Transvaal to work as a miner. Maybe to South America. I thought he may have changed his name so as not to be found by wife, Mary. I believe I found his birth in Sutton Forest, NSW. He was born 1835 to Patrick and Eliza/Elizabeth (nee Longmore). Both Patrick and Eliza are buried there in Sutton Forest. Thanks for your help.
