i haven't got james hutcheon born 1851 on my list but that maybe due to the fact that it could be a brother's son.  The family tree is my husbands which i am researching for him

the line i am searching starts from William Hutcheon and Jean Ried from Banchory, Devenick, Kincardine. Scotland.

they had 9 children all born in Banchory.
___________________________________________

the next line I have is John Hutcheon born 1770 married Margaret Horn on 9 Dec 1788.
they had 4 children all born in Strichen. Aberdeen. Scotland

the next line is James Hutcheon born 1792 married Mary Hay on 15 Jun 1807
they had 4 children born in Ellon, Aberdeen.

the next line is George Hutcheon born 24 Dec 1812 married Juliet Forrest on 31 Jan 1836
they had 7 children all born in Logie Buchan, aberdeen.

next line is Thomas Hutcheon born 5 Jul 1841 married Jane Bain on 6 Dec 1862 Foveran. Aberdeen.
they had 11 children born in Ellon and Foveran.

the next line is my line John Hutcheon born 1879 Foveran married 23 Dec 1904 Ellon Aberdeen to Christina Anderson.

they had several children my father-in-law James Hutcheon.

There is a James Hutcheon born to James Hutcheon and Mary Hay born Sep 1807 Ellon, Aberdeen. maybe that could be your line because if married would possibly had a son called James.

The James Hutcheon b1851 Foveran who married my GG Grandfather's sister, Ann Taylor Mutch seems to be a different Hutcheon family in Foveran.

My James Hutcheon's parents were Alexander Hutcheon b1798 Fraserburgh and Jean/Jean Campbell b abt 1816 Drumoak.  I have 7 children for James Hutcheon and Ann Taylor Mutch, at least 2 of which were born in Foveran, but I don't recognise any of the Hutcheons you mention. Sorry.

Hi Fruitcake,
My 3x grgran Marjory Charles, married a James Hutcheon occ: Tailor aged 19
by the age of 23/or 26 they had moved to Burnt Island and he was working for the railway.  By the time Agnes my 2 x grgran was born the name had changed to Hutchison.(Started I think by a clerical error) His father was John Hutcheon and elizabeth McDonald was his mother.
Also marjory charles was the grand daughter of  Mary Craig who Married George Hall . One of their daughters married a Honeyman, another married a Reid.  Mary Craig also had a daughter with Adam Forbes named Margaret born in 1817.  Also related to James Duncan who married Ann or Agnes Sandilands.  Marcie
There was a Janet Smith noted on a census aged 14 staying or working for a family, the reason it caught my eye was because thats the same as my grgranny's name.

also Bain, Forrest, Hay, Horn and Reid all from Aberdeen.

Good evening from Canada. I've been doing a fair bit of research on Bains from Aberdeen area. Robert Bain (1958-1913) and his wife Ann Henderson (1853-1923) lived in Crommie Cottage, Kingswell, Aberdeenshire. Robert was a master tailor.

Robert Bain's parents were George and Isabella. They had four boys and two girls.

Robert and his wife had seven sons. One went to the the USA, four to Canada, one died in this early 30s in Aberdeenshire, and the other died in infancy.

Should any of this sound familiar let me know. I'm pleased to share what I have collected.

I have a Janet Reid aged 20 marrying John Brown aged 23 on 1st November 1872 at 6 Eastfield Courts (I think it says)
His father is Alexander Brown and occ: Cooper whlst his mother is Jane Mowbray Brown.

Her parents are Peter Reid occ: Blacksmith wife Margaret Brown Reid
Witnessed by James Brown and Euphemia Reid. Minister was James Mitchell

Does any of this fit in with anyones research.
Adam Forbes is the father of Margaret Forbes: mother is Mary Craig. Adam Forbes was married, so Margaret was illegitimate.
My Hutcheon family I believe came from Tough or nearby

Hi marcie,

I can't see any obvious connection between your James Hutcheon and my Hutcheons. IGI has a James Hutcheon and a Marjory Charles marrying 27 Nov 1859 in Rayne. I do have a John Hutcheon (elder brother of my James Hutcheon) but he was born c1838, so can't be your James Hutcheon's father, if your James is the one who married in 1859.

To be honest, I haven't done much research yet on my Hutcheon connection, but I will make note of your Hutcheons for future reference.

I have some Hutcheons from Foveran.  The connection is James Hutcheon b1851 Foveran who married Ann Taylor Mutch, sister of my Great Great Grandfather Alexander Mutch.

Hi Fruitcake,

I was interested in your Alexander Mutch as my Wife's g-g-g-grandfather was also Alexander Mutch.  He married Isabella Brown in 1823 in New Deer (as far as I can tell). Their son John Mutch married Eliza Buchan in 1864 in Foveran and had a daughter Elspet Chriton Mutch, born in 1870, who married Alexander Leith in 1891 in Udny.

"Our" Alexander Mutch was a watch & Clock maker in Ellon

Any connection to yours?

Jim

 Hi fruitcake,
Yes that is them. Marjory is my 4 x gr grandmother, her husband was a qualified tailor, but then they moved to Burnt Island and lived in the railway station apparently when he became a railway worker.  Marjory is the daughter of Margaret Forbes and Adam Charles and also granddaughter of Mary Craig who married George Hall, whilst Margaret Forbes married a John Hall no relation to George.

Margaret Forbes was to marry Adam Charles, but either the day before or on the day he had an accident at the mill and he died.

Hi marcie,

I do have a rather tenuous Hutcheon connection to Burntisland. Christina Hutcheon (b c1882), a daughter of my James Hutcheon (b 1851), married a Peter Simpson from Burntisland in 1911. They seem to have stayed in the Fife area, as Christina died in Kirkcaldy in 1933, but as I mentioned in my previous post, I haven't done any real research on my Hutcheons as yet.

Hi Jim,

There could very well be a connection.

My GG Grandfather, Alexander Mutch was born in 1851 in Fyvie, but his father (my GGG Grandfather), also Alexander Mutch, was born in 1811 in Cruden. My GGGG Grandfather was William Mutch, who I believe was born in New Deer, but married, lived and died in Cruden. I'm not sure where my GGGGG Grandfather, yet another Alexander Mutch, was born, but he married a Janet Johnston from New Deer, and they both died in Ellon.

I expect you're familiar with the mutches.com website, if so, my direct lines are:

Alexander Mutch - A6
William Mutch - W1
Alexander Mutch - A24

Thanks, weasel1.  As yet I can't see any obvious connection to yours and Marcie's Hutcheons, but I'll keep the info from both of you for future reference.
