Title: Maria Churm's Mother. Completed
Post by: cg fan on Friday 31 December 10 12:31 GMT (UK)
I am looking for the parents of Maria Churm, born in Wellington in 1814.
The IGI has Samuel and Anne listed as her parents, but my puzzle is what was Anne's maiden name.

There are a few marriages for Samuel Churm and Ann in Wellington...

Samuel and Ann Brown in 1760, which I think could be the parents of said Samuel.
Samuel and Anne Wilson in 1784.
And Samuel and Ann Adderley in 1895.

What I am wondering is which of these could be the mother of Maria and did they have any other children?
I would welcome any thoughts on this matter.

Regards
cg.

Hi,

The couple who married in 1760......... married 54 years ..........too old for a child in 1814

the couple in 1784............married 30 years but possible

the couple in  1895....do you mean 1795?    If 1795 then that couple are possibly Maria's parents.

Hi Nanny Jan,

Sorry my mistake, I did mean 1795.
I wondered if the 1784 marriage was possible, what was also putting me off was the different spellings of Ann/ Anne. It may not be that important but it does make a difference when that is your name.

Hiya

I have a Maria Churm in the family tree I am compiling for someone else.  Her parents are Samuel and Ann Adderley.  Maria's sibling Thomas is my line of research.

Hope that helps.

Cheers
Lisa

Hi Lisa,

Welcome to RootsChat and thank you for your reply. I will have to do some more research into the family now.  :)
I am descended from Maria, through her son Robert. Robert's daughter Martha, was my 2x great grandmother.

Good luck in your research.

Anne.
