Title: Another Bradford photo for dating
Post by: Wayne on Thursday 30 December 10 21:44 GMT (UK)
Here is a second photo, also undated, from a Bradford studio. Appreciate any feedback regarding likely date of this photo. NB: the reverse of the photo is black.

1890's again but as mens clothes styles changed at a slower pace it's impossible to say which part.
It's possibly a memorial card as it plain backed but may also be a copy.

Thanks, Jim, for the feedback.

Two followup questions:

If the man's photo is a memorial card, would this mean he was in mourning?

Also, any significance to the fact he was wearing a white tie?

Memorial cards were copies of photos of someone who had recently died.
The wing collar & white cravat are formal daywear worn mainly at weddings.
