Looking for information on Helen Isabella Bissel Cheyne. Born 5th Nov 1898 at St. Machar in Aberdeen. Her parents were James Cheyne, Plasters Labourer and Margaret Spence Reid who were married on 6th Oct 1898 at St. Machar. Her middle name could possibly be Bissel or Bisset. Helen married a John Davies several years later. But haven't been able to find a marriage for her.

Hi, I recommend you try searching in scotlandspeople. I managed to find the marriage there. It took place in 1935 in the district of Leith South,in Edinburgh city. You will have to order a copy of the certificate if you require more information, as it is so recent & not available for download. Without spending any more credits I've managed to trace Helen's death to the year 1972. Hope this helps you,

Sorry I'm a late responder, but hopefully better late than never.
I have Cheynes in my tree and found that there is a great site with info on the Cheyne family. I've provided a link so you can take a look.
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~cheyne/p9152.htm
In the event the link isn't live, go to Google, search for Cheyne family tree, once you're at the site, click Surname, find Bissett and click that.
You'll see a listing for Isabella Bisset (mother of your Helen Isabella). There is a live link from her to Helen. It doesn't include info on her marriage, but it does include a link to the Cheyne relative in the US who compiled the info so he may have more than he recorded on the site.
Hope that helps.

Sorry. I should have added, if that isn't your Helen (I now note different names for parents), perhaps you can find more family hints at the site anyway.
Happy hunting.
