Hi All
This is a random tintype photo that I acquired simply because I wanted to see what a tin type looked like!
I decided to post it a) as I'm curious as to a date and I thought China/Jim would also like to see the dresses which I think are quite fabulous and b) I will most probably never get around to colouring it myself. ::)
Must stress, not urgent...please give others priority
Thanks for taking the time to look!

Ooo, fabulous!
Late 1870s...still got the fussy pleats of the 70s but the sleek bodice with the long row of buttons of the 80s is there too. How'd you like to have to iron that lot?? :o
It's in good shape, too, not scratched. Lucky find, Caz :)
Cheers,
China

I knew you like it China. It is fab isn't it. The original does have a few scratches and one of the corners was cut off :-\ but overall it's in good condition.
As for ironing them, well let's just say I hope I'd be in a position to pay someone to do it for me!
What is it with you and Jim and ironing? ;D ;D ;D ;D (Jim told me to do some ironing the other day because I said I was "bored"! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D )
Thanks for the date, that's brill. :-*

Jim may have you confused with Tephra, who is famous for loathing ironing. And beetroot. As you live on the same continent as Tephra, the two of you are interchangeable in Jim's mind. Jim is easily confused ;D
Me...I just saw aaaalllllll those pleats :P :P :P :P :P
-
I see China's trying to get me to rise to the bait again.
Being confused is underrated in my view, there's a lot to
be said for it...who wants clarity when there's a fog of
nostalgia to walk in.......& I do know the difference
between the 2 charming ladies.......Tephra's better at ironing
Oh dear! I think I did rise to it.
-
Oh, hi Jim....been eavesdropping again I see ;D
-
I like to keep tabs on who's talking about me just in case on the
very rare occasion something comlimentary's said.
I think I stand a better chance of catching Cazza doing the ironing.

Nice colour that Jim and I agree confused is not to be sniffed at.I live in a semi permanent state of confusion.

It's like an Abbott and Costello routine between you two AKA "Who's on First!!! ;D ;D But seriously, does anyone like ironing???? :D :D I do have one saving grace though, I'm a fanatic at housework...so I guess that counts for something! :D :D :D :D
Thank you very much Jim for your colouring, love the colours and the authenticity of it, but I wouldn't expect anything less from a dating guru! 8) Although I am embarrassed after reading I don't know how many times that this type of image should be reversed, I still managed to post it the wrong way round! :-[ ;D
For the record I love beetroot ;D ;D ;D ;D
Caz
PS I have no problelm with Tephra having the better at ironing title! ;D ;D ;D
-
PS Forgot to say I love the frame, but you knew I would! ;)
Oh and George, if you're a reds fan, then you're alright in my book, confused or not! ;) ;) ;D ;D ;D

Should be okay again when download resets on the 2nd! ::) ::) ::)

Aw bless your little cotton socks! Beautiful me ole buddy and very much appreciated! Love the subtle but intricate borders as well :o :-* I guess I owe you one now! :D :D I'm going to dig out some of my Victorian frames for Carolyn's and yours befitting these beautiful colourisations to go along side Jim's frame!
Oh and don't worry about adding a late entry, if Jim can take four years to do a restore, I can wait a few days! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D SORRY Jim, just had to get that in somewhere! ;D ;D ;D
