Hello Cath,
If you click on the Surnames tab at the top of each page it will take you to the Surname Interests table. It looks as if there is at least one other member with an interest in the surname GEARY in Shropshire:

You could also try GEAREY. If you post your own interests here someone else may connect with you in the future.
If you are looking for any specific information please post a separate request on the relevant board.
Hope this helps,
Jean

Hi Cath
I was looking through some old posts and noticed this because I came across a Geary in one my searches some time ago.
I have found 2 in the Broseley PR:
5 Nov 1670 Thomas Bridgewood & Mary Geary, mar.
23 Feb 1676 Thomas Jones & Joane Geary of Chetton, mar.
On the IGI there are quite a number, I've picked 3 out at random:
14 Aug 1748 Sarah Geary, chr.
About 1699 Thomas Geary b/chr. Spouse Ellenor Oakes, 26 May 1724, mar.
7 May 1803 Harriet Geary, chr.
Probably pointless going on without some further info, but importantly there are a lot of Geary's in the Broseley area.
Regards
Geoff

Hi ,I have Ann Geary married John Doughty 1744,Ann died in Brosley in 1787.
They had links with the canals . In Ann,s will dated 1787,she states that she gives her three sons ,Richard ,George and William her new Trow now building at Stodds Timber Yard which is to be called ,The Three Brothers . I hope this
helps with your research. :D

Hi Gnome/Cath
Not sure if you know, but John and Ann had at least 3 more children (assuming I've got the right family, because this marriage is recorded as Madeley, 7 June 1744, but that is not unusual, some of my relatives in Ironbridge are):
29 June 1744 Sarah, d. bap.
16 Mar 1746 Elizabeth, d. bap.
6 Jan 1750 John, s. bap.

Hi,
There could have been some conection with the Oaks family as in the Will of
John Doughty ,Broseley .Trow man, husband of Anne . Will made 16th September 1764.He owns quite a few properties, one of these he left to his third son Edward. The house is in the occupation of George Oakes .Edward is to have the house when he is Twenty Four.
My connection with the Doughty,s is through my paternal gt Grandmother Annie Lucilla Doughty, born 1866,Broseley.

Hi
No, but I have a John Geary in the family, father of one of my ancestors wives.
I've hit a brick wall on that line, so I follow up every tiny lead that appears...
