Title: MOORE SYKES WADE Family South Australia
Post by: specialkmp on Friday 24 December 10 01:06 GMT (UK)
Hello and merry Christmas

I am looking for any information on the Moore family in South Australia, Australia
John Moore born abt 1823 married Mary Ann Sykes born about 1831
Marriage information or their parents as I have hit a brick wall. They were in South Australia by 1853 as their daughter Mary Jane was born in Kensington.

The main person of interest is their son John (Bob) Robinson Moore who was born in south Australia 13 Mar 1860. He married a Susan Wade in 23 Sep 1881.

Also after any information on Susan Wade born about 1858 (marriage records in 1881 has her as 23)  father is Thomas Wade. Could be a mistake as she was known in the family as a run away from home.

Thank you and merry merry Christmas to all
Kristy

Kristy,

The South Australian Police Gazette August 12 1874 has a Moore, John Robinson tried in July 1874 at Adelaide for Larceny and sentenced to 4 years at the Industrial School.

If he is your John Robinson Moore he would have been only 14 but maybe the Industrial School was for juvenile offenders.

Regards and Merry Christmas
