I think this is my great-great-uncle Robert A. Webster. He is the only one in the family that I believe was in the war, so this is probably him. I was just wondering if anyone was able to tell what kind of uniform this is, and from where.
Thank you all,
Jeremiah

Hi Jeremiah,
As Ainslie has already said your image shows a soldier who was serving in a Canadian Regiment at the time that this photograph was taken. My immediate thought was that this is someone who was a sapper in the Royal Canadian Engineer's as their cap badge has the same design as the British Royal Engineer's save the fact that they would have had a different centre piece to it. If this is the case there is a copy of some army records to be found on the Canadian National Archives site for a Robert Archibald Webster, Sapper 2007786 who was born in Glasgow in 1894. His next of kin is given as Annie Webster-wife- and there is an address in Pa. USA. given on the form as well for Annie (and presumably his home address). Would this information fit in with what you known about your gt-gt uncle at all.

I will go with Old rowley
It does look like the Canadian Engineers cap badge

Yes old rowley, that is the exact information of my great-great-uncle. Then this must be the picture of him, because he did fight in the Canadian Regiments.
Thank you guys very much

This is the first page of his army papers which you can find and apply for via the National Archives of Canadian site.

Thank you old rowley. I have seen that information before, but that is good researching. That must be him, according to the suit and the army papers. Thank you all very much for identifying my relative!

Only too pleased to have helped.
