Title: Castle which on
Post by: VIK on Wednesday 22 December 10 10:13 GMT (UK)
I have been looking at this picture and trying to work out which castle this is.
I wonder is it Caerphilly Castle.

Has anyone got any ideas on this one, if so I would love to hear from you.

Vik,

I'd say it was Caerphilly.

If you look at this image, you can really see the similarities. http://my.opera.com/DANGKIEN87/albums/showpic.dml?album=774036&picture=10453175

Your photo looks like there is grass / scrub land between the gentleman and the castle, which would place the photo pre-1958 as this is when the moat was reflooded.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Amy

It is definitely it all the features seem to match.  I am not sure when the photo was taken, it looks pretty old to me and definitely pre 1950s.

Regards
