With great excitement I discovered a scrap of info re my great grandfather George Keys
B. Belfast, Ireland B. 1824 and D. 1906 Dunedin, New Zealand. Before this discovery we knew nothing about him. That scrap of info appears on my great grandmother's headstone in Dunedin:
SACRED TO THE MEMORY OF MATILDA JANE KEYS DEARLY BELOVED WIFE OF GEORGE KEYS
OF BELFAST IRELAND ARMY PENSIONER ROYAL ARTILLERY DIED 13th DEC. 1902 AGED 70 YEARS
Since my Grandfather (George and Matilda's son) was born at Fort George:
David Keys b 1857 Fort George. I am interested in finding out about their lives.
I live in NZ so getting to Kew is difficult - maybe one day! Can anyone assist or point me in the right direction?

it looks as if there are four images of his discharge papers on FindMyPast, only the place of birth is given as Armagh.
