Hi,
I'm looking for Andrew Conheeney, he was a soldier of the second boer war and I can't find him on ancestry, their index isn't complete. Would someone be able to look him up somewhere else. He was awarded both the King's and Queen's medals for his service and I have no idea what regiment he was in.
Any help would be appreciated,
Adele

hi,,do you know when and where he was born? ;)

All I've been able to get on him is that he was born in Ireland about 1877.

Most Boer War soldiers were discharged before the end of 1913 so their papers (if they survive) should be on Findmypast. Exceptions will be Militiamen who went overseeas with their unit, and men who served in the 100+ irregular mounted infantry units created during the Boer War. However most of these men only served for one year, which was not sufficient to qualify for the Kings medal, so I who look on FindMyPast first.
