Title: Ralph Grecian b1723 circa Northumberland
Post by: oberang on Tuesday 21 December 10 16:29 GMT (UK)
I am trying to find if Ralph Grecian is related to James Grecian b1743.

Ralph was a witness at James Grecian and Eleanor Steele b1745 wedding on 12/12/1765.

Ralph died 11/5/1803 as a shepherd, late of Fawdon, aged 80 years. Ralph Grecian, married Mary Aynsley on 23/5/1758 at Brandon. She died in 1765. He also had banns for a marriage to Eleanor Crisp on 25/5/1766. He was living in Reveley and she was living in Ilderton.

I look forward to your assistance.

Have a nice Christmas.

Hello Oberong,

I am descended from George Grecian & Alice Hill of Ingram, Northumberland my Gt. Gt. G'parents,
their son George came to Australia with his wife Jane Stewart & had six children in Geelong, Victoria.

I have George Snr's father as James Grecian 1738 - 1821 born Ingam, Nth. as marrying Eleanor Steele in 1765 in Ingram. He had a brother Ralph who was born 1737 & married Mary Aynsley & after she died it looks like he married Eleanor Crisp the following year.

I have George & Alfred's parents as George Grecian & Ann Henderson who married 1720 in Eglingham.

I don't have certificates for them though, I got my information from the IGI - (International Genealogical Index) on Ancestry or microfiche at genealogy libraries over 20 years ago.

Hoping this gives you a few leads to follow,

All the best,

Yvonne Foster

Thanks Garstonite,

It matches mine up to George Grecian's (1692 - 1764) parents, but I could be wrong there also.
