Hi,
I have an old school photo that I want to post on the Nottingham page, but first I need your help to make out the names that my Gran has thoughtfully written on the back!
I have some, but there are a good few that I would like you guys to double check.
Back row:Connor? Turner, Burcroft, Liggott, Breedon, Alcock, Breedon, Clarke, Marsh? Mr Harris, Marshall, Miss Harris
3rd Row: Connor?, Cook, King, Peel, Breedon, W Parkin, Powell, Twells, Marshall, Breedon, Kershaw, Francis, -----?, Holland, M Harris
2nd Row: Sam Allwood, Alcock, Wootton, Willmott, Willmott, Cook, Thompson, Clark, B.Parkin, Holland, Fancis on Holland, N.Lowe
front row: E. Parkin, Peel, T.Parkin, Holland C---? then i'm stuck. Any help much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
Best wishes,

Hi Copperbeech,
Could the last line be "Connor Beecroft Beecroft (Twins)..."?
Any chance of getting a bigger scan onto the board? It's very hard to read this one :-\
Cheers

There's a line beneath the one with the twins, I think it reads
Smallwood, Breedon and Bruton

2nd row begins with another SMALLWOOD rather than Sam ALLWOOD.
Later in that row I think it is "Francis or Holliwell" or something like that (though Francis doesn't seem to have enough letters).

Hi PrueM, LizzieW and Dalum,
Thanks so much for your responses, I am so sorry the quality of the photo was very poor, but I have re done it, and I think have made a better job of it this time!
Much appreciate you suggestions so far and I think you are all right, and hopefully now it is clearer for you to see.
Many thanks, and please keep up the good work!
Best wishes,

Hi Copperbeech,
Have put all the bits together and this is what I think I see now - I've left a question mark after the ones I'm not sure of, and a couple of the names I thought could be either/or so I've put both in.
I'm still not happy about "Connop" but it's definitely not "Connor" as the last letter is not an r :-\
Back row: Connop, Turner, Beecroft, Liggott/Leggatt, Breedon, Alcock, Breedon, Clarke, Beecroft, Marsh?, Mr Harris, Marshall, Mrs Harris
3rd Row: Connop, Cook, King, Peel, Breedon, Parkin, Powell, Twells/Truells, Marshall, Breedon, Kershaw, Francis, Colwell?, F. Holland, M. Harris
2nd Row: Smallwood, Alcock, Wootton, Willmott, Willmott, Cook, Thompson, Clarke, B. Parkin, M. Holland, Francson?, Holland, N. Lowe
front row: T. Parkin, Peel, Parkin, Holland, Connop?, Beecroft, Beecroft (Twins), E. Smallwood, Breedon, Breedon

For what it's worth, the last letter in 'Connop' (as suggested by PrueM) certainly looks like the 'p' in 'Thompson'.

Hi Prue and Lyn,
Thank you so much for your help in deciphering these names, I want to put the picture up in the Nottingham section, for other folk to identify the faces, but needed to be clearer on the names before I did that!
Good work well done!
Happy Christmas,
