Robert TAYLOR b Loddiswell 2 Feb 1800 was m to Elizabeth in Poughill in Jun 1822. Their first child Maria was born there in 1824 as was every subsequent child until their last William Thomas b there Oct 1849.

Does any kind soul have access to the registers please? I'd love to know Elizabeth's family name and details of her parents.

Any help would be much appreciated please. Thank you in advance.

Marriages prior to 1.7.1837 do not show fathers names - mothers names are never shown on English marriage certs

If the marriage cannot be found - a copy of one of their childrens birth certs will give you Elizabeth's maiden name

Births March qtr 1839   
Harriet Taylor    Crediton  10 78   

Births June qtr 1842   
Emily Taylor   Crediton  10 70

I was hoping that someone who had access to the registers could glean something from the witnesses.

William was born in Oct 1849 but I really ought to buy the certificate. They just take weeks to get to Canada!

But thank you for confirmation of the birth dates of Harriet and Emily.

Elizabeth HOSEGOOD was baptised 1 Mar 1801 Poughill parents Luke and Ann

Florence 1 Jun 1806
Maria 11 Oct 1807
Maria 3 Dec 1809
George 29 Nov 1812

Possible Luke HOSEGOOD = Anne TAPP 28 Aug 1795 Rose Ash

also children to a Luke and Maria in Poughill

William 14 APR 1790
Thomas 4 APR 1790
Anna 14 MAY 1792

Luke HOSEGOOD = Maria BODLEY 5 Apr 1789 Tiverton.

You will need view or purchase printouts from the DRO to see if Luke was widowed when he married Ann.
