Hi,

I had a quick look on Ancestry, there are a couple of trees that have him as Joseph Cartwright Worrell born 1838 St Sepulchure Northamptonshire England.
One tree has him arriving in Australia in 1858, marriage in 1859 to Mary Miller Hunter Tanner, no State though.
The other tree has him staying in England???

There is an arrival in Victoria on the'Johan Lange'  for a J Worrell [Vic assisted and unassisted passenger lists], 2 Mar 1858.

The first child's birth certificate may give you more information about the place of marriage.
I will search a bit Victoria now.

Hi
Good thought Essie, I guess now a search for arrivals in SA may be an idea.

Looks like Joseph remarried to Sarah Wilson in 1877 NSW.

Hi

A Joseph Worrell  aged 19 arrived on the ship Blundell in 1856.    http://www.theshipslist.com/ships/australia/blundell1856.htm

AND one child recorded in SA for Joseph and Tamar
Tamar Jane WORRELL b. 22 Nov 1860 at Mannanarie
Parents: Joseph WORRELL & Tamar Mary Miller HUNTER
District of Burra / bk 21 / pg 283

There were other WORRELL marriages in SA with a father named Charles.  A likely brother of Joseph named Daniel Cartwright WORRELL m. Mary Ann BROWN 31 Jan 1863.
The fourth child of Daniel and Mary Ann WORRELL was a daughter named Tamar Mary who died in 1897 at Armidale NSW.

Hi
You are too quick for me Essie.
From the Ancestry tree again, Josephs parents are Charles b 1795 Dallington, Northamptonshire, and Jane Cartwright b 1801 St Sepulchure Northamptonshire Marriage 1821 St Sep.

Check that out before you trust it, as I said there are two different trees, but Jane Cartwright would fit if his second name was Cartwright.

Hi
The 1851 census of Battersea, Surrey has the family, Charles 56, Jane 51, Samuel 20, Ebeneezer 17, Daniel 15 and Joseph 13, looks like Daniel and Joseph were brothers.

I believe all the information stated above comes from my Ancestry tree (Mourney Tree).  I can confirm that all the information regarding Joseph Cartwright Worrell on that tree is accurate - I painstakingly gathered it all myself.  He was my great great grandfather.  His brother Thomas Cartwright Worrell is a fascinating story - made all the papers!  How is he connected to you?

Chatso58 - in your message you spelled the name "Worral".  Was there a reason for this?  If that is the spelling you have been given, I can probably tell you the reason why the spelling changed for one brother - but I can't send a message until I have posted 3 times!  I assume your husband is descended from George Penfold Worrell (the second one).
