I would be grateful if someone could advise me of a Gateshead Newspaper which has a Letters page please.
I'm trying to trace descendants of my Gt Gt Uncle Samuel Jones (born Oswestry) & his wife Annie (born Ireland).
The 1911 Census shows him living in Gateshead, with Annie and the following children:
Mary 8 & James 6, both born in Manchester.
John 4, born in Jarrow.
Fred 2, born in Gateshead.
Don't know how to trace the family after 1911 so I thought that if I could get a letter showing the information I'm after, included in an edition of a Gateshead newspaper, I might have more luck in tracing someone that way.
Any pointers would be appreciated.
Cheers
Barbara.

Hi Barbara
Gateshead doesn't have a specific paper of it's own any more so most people would read the Newcastle Evening Chronicle.
Might be worth contacting Gateshead libraries as well though as they have a very good local/family history section who also may be able to help.

Barbara,as Julie said the Evening Chronicle might be your best bet,i know they have a section in it about once week concerning families trying to get in touch with relatives.
