I am seeking information regarding the Earl family of Hambledon.

An extracted LDS record gives the christening of George Copas Earl on 31 OCT 1824 at Hambledon.  His father's name is not given and his mother is recorded as Sarah Earl. 

I don't know whether George was illegitimate but given the absence of the father's name I suspect that he probably was.  I am, therefore, wondering whether anyone might know the identity of Sarah i.e. who were her parents.

I would be grateful for any assistance with this.

The original entry only shows mother Sarah, so it appears that he was illegitimate.

There is a marriage in Hambledon for a Sarah EARL of Hambledon and a William HEATHER of Chiddingford 27th Nov 1825.  No proof that this is your Sarah.. but worth keeping in mind

I tried to find George Earl with a mother named Sarah Heather in the census records but I guess this was wishful thinking!

Hi There,
I am trying to trace a George Earl born about 1834 in I believe Hambledon. He appears to have married twice firstly to Eliza Bachelor in 1848 and secondly to Mary Ann Huntingford in 1876. I am not sure but he may be the same George Earl particularly as  an Ann Copus was  an early ancestor of his family. I have his sons and daughters but am trying to trace his ancesrty. They appear to be an illusive family

Any ideas?

Could this be your Eliza Bachelor  ???
