Can anyone tell me if a person who was born in Bombay India 1894 to English parents would have to get Australian Naturalization. Or how to get birth records of this person. Already tried fibis, ancesty, and findmypast, shiplist. Also having trouble finding this person on shipping records.
I have the following marriage certificates
Bernard James Engel b. 1894 Bombay India married Dorothea Vick 1914 South Australia, father Henry Michael Engel, born at sea in abt 1864 mother Edith Shenton Freeman b. 1863 India
Thank you for your time and consideration

Hi Specialkmp,
For births in India have you tried these other web sites or checked out the Resources Page on the Other Countries board on this website:

Cheers,

Hi specialkmp :)
To answer your first question - no, they would not have had to be naturalised to live in Australia. We were all part of the same British Empire at that date.
Unfortunately unless your man was an assisted immigrant (i.e. was subsidised by the government or some other agency to come out here) you may have trouble finding him on a passenger list. Unassisted migrants were often not listed at all on ship's manifests, or may have only been listed using initials or surnames. He may have come out with his parents, so it might be worth looking for a Mr Engel with a wife and child/children on the passenger lists.
If you post a message on the Australia board, you will find people there with access to various resources who might be able to help with your search. Be sure to copy and paste the URL for this topic into your new one, so they know what work has already been done :)
Hope that helps
Cheers
