Title: Place names
Post by: Manick on Wednesday 08 December 10 10:02 GMT (UK)
I'm trying to find proper names from 1841, 1851 and 1861 Scottish censuses.
Kabberton, Cabtierton (probably the same place) and Heininy Valley. The latter was a family with 10 servants so may have been a large house.
The person I am tracing is Janet/ Jessie Taylor.

Possibly that's it. The other one must have been a sizeable farm of 250 acres.(Andrew & Isabella Reid)

It's Haining Valle(y).

Search on streetmap for The Haining and you will find it, to the east of Falkirk.

Kabberton Houses - same vicinity!  Near a Redford Mansion.  Redford still marked on the current OS map.
