I'm still looking for details of William Rooney born1869/70 and wife Mary{nee Fogarty} of Errill Garryduff. Probably died 1920's to 1950's. They were RC and buried locally. Also of their children Thomas , Jeremiah b1906 and Alice b1898

Have you found them in 1901 and 1911 census yet? if not, both are online (free)-

Civil registration index is also free online- see here for Introduction to Irish Records- www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,442233.0.html

Yes thanks - I have seen them on 1901 and 1911 census at Clonmore.
I'm more interested in their deaths or graveyard inscriptions. Should I have posted in a different forum?

No, but it helps if you post the details you have and tell us exactly what you are looking for. I'm not sure if that information will be available anywhere online (civil registration index will get you the details needed to order the death certificate- which will not show place of burial) but perhaps someone else will be able to help.

Have you tried this website. There are many Laois gravestone inscriptions there.

is my website and I have an extensive record of Errill headstones and there is no William Rooney; Nor is there any Fogarty burials.
There is Sophia Rooney- 10/4/1895 (73).
No to say they are not interred there, and only the Register of the cemetery, or the local PP could confirm this.
I also checked Rathdowney (just in case) and Council cemetery records for Rathdowney (1928-2001) and my own headstone records, do not show any Rooney.
