Post by: Naomi Appleby on Sunday 05 December 10 08:05 GMT (UK)
I am trying to find out were Joseph Appleby was born. At present I have to two areas, one for Warwickshire and I have no idea were in this area and the other is for Staffordshire!!

Joseph Appleby was born about 1811 and married Margaret Hutchins (b 1815 Hackney, Middlesex) in 1835 in Hackney.

Sorry I cant give you anymore information.

Cheers

A Family Tree has him dying 18 April 1871, Hackney.
If this is true his Death should be Reg Jun Qtr 1871 and there is this one that fits;
William Joseph APPLEBY, Hackney, 1b 260, Age 60 (So born c 1811)

Name on the original form looks like Appelby to me!

But is written as George and Elizabeth.
But the address is 15 Shacklewell Road.
In 1851 they lived at 14 Shacklewell Road.

he married Margaret Hutchins at St JOhns Hoxton 7th June  1835 have you seen the marriage entry?
it read as such :

Joseph Appleby OTP Bachelor
Margaret Hutchins OTP spinster
married in this church after banns (so he had to live there at least 21 days before marriage)
Joseph & Margaret made their mark
as did the witnesses William Day & Mary Ann Hutchins
