Greetings and Happy Holidays to All!
I am looking for the earliest pictures available of the area and inhabitants of Bockagh and Tonregee Ireland (about 5km NW of Ballaghadereen).
Prior to 1898 these two townlands were in Co. Mayo, now in Roscommon.
Especially early school photo's or information about Derrincartha NS., or the earlier school that serviced that area.

When the Griffith's Valuation was conducted in Kilcolman Civil Parish, Costello Barony in 1856, it was still part of County Mayo. This was one of the border areas that was later transferred to County Roscommon in 1898 under a "Local Government Act." All 28 Townlands in Kilcolman Civil Parish, Costello Barony became part of County Roscommon in this transfer. Transfers of the following 28 townlands in Kilcolman Civil Parish in the Barony of Costello from Co Mayo to Co Roscommon took place in 1898
