Looking for Hannah Higginson b app 1813-17. She is according to family documents apparantly related to "the famous Dr Stewart of Belfast". She left Ireland for India 1833/34 where she married Simon Alexander George Young, an army surgeon.
I have know idea who her parents were or who the "famous Dr Stewart" was.
Any clues please. :)

Simon Alexander George Young was my great great great grandfather, he was married to a Hannah but I don't know her maiden name or background. I know he was in India and something medical! Their daughter Arabella married William Kortright Brock, and their son Stewart Nicholas de Saumerez Brock, (why he added De Saumerez I don't know!) married Lina Steinthal, and their daughter Lysbeth married Lionel Savill, they were my grandparents.
I have some letters written by William Kortright Brock from the Crimean war where he was on medical attachment. I am currently typing them out.
Anything you can add would be brilliant.

Hello Wharfebank.
Thanks for replying.
Simon Alexander George Young is also my GGG Grandfather and William Kortright Brock is my GG Grandfather. Simon’s wife Hannah was Hannah Higginson. They were married on 31st May 1834, Bolarum, India. Simon was born 3 Nov 1805, Inverness, Scotland. He was the son of Ebenezer Young, a teacher at the (Inverness) Acadamy. His mother was Margaret Smith. If you go to the India Family History Search page at www.indiafamily.bl.uk you will find the full references.
The de Saumarez addition to the Brock names is a references to family connections with the De Saumarez family of Guernsey.
When you have transcribed the letters I would love to see them. I also have letters written to Fanny Aikin Kortright, William Kortright Brock's aunt. Have only just aquired them so haven't had much chance to look at them properly yet, should be interesting.
Regards
Gina
