apart from the information held on Ancestry, and the more laborious information held on 1837 online is there anyway to find information on death information for the period post 1964?
i am interested in a death that may have occurred between 1964 and 1983, but this is not on freebmd and hence not on Ancestry.
any suggestions - gratefully received.

Hi Sue
If you know the county you could see if they have a searchable website for example Kent County Council has but only has deaths for the last ten years when I last looked at it.
If you know the exact place of death you could contact the local registration office, they will often do a search of a given number of years for you.
A look in local newspapers, but you would need to know the area.
Hope this helps.

many thanks - trouble is i know very little except that he was born either in 1905 or 1906 and his name is William Bailey (as far as i know no extra names!)
he was a retired Salvation Army officer, so when i get the right death cert i'll know its himn (i hope)

Hi Sue
Would it be worth putting a message on Rootschat such as
Trying to Find William Bailey or Looking for William Bailey - it is just possible someone else may have him or come across him in their family tree/research. I know I have names that I thought maybe something to do with my family research but turns out they are not or I haven't proved it yet.
I tend to hang onto them and anything I have found to do with that name, never know when it may help someone else.
Good hunting!

Hi Sue,
Is there any more info' you could give? As there are 513 William Bailey's
Death Registered from 1984 to 1992. Just an idea of the area may help.
