My partner has just agreed to me researching his family because I have reached the stage in mine where progress is becoming slow. I am so excited by this! How sad is that and do I need to get out more?
Anyway, his family names, so far, are: Harvey, Parsons, Butler, Hurley and Maskell ( Mascall). All from the London area, particularly Mile End Old Town, Bermondsey, Bethnal Green, Finsbury, Leyton, East Ham. ( It is possible that the Harvey branch came from Lincolnshire originally but I'm still checking this)
Is anyone out there researching these families?
Cheers,
Jen

All I have so far is Blanche Jeanette Maskell, born 1870, daughter of John Maskell. John Maskell was dead when Blanche married Francis Butler in 1896.
I have found a Blanche Mascall aged 11, place of birth Bethnal Green, on the 1881 census, living in Bethnal Green with her widowed mother, Jane but have no proof as yet that she is the one I'm looking for. I can't find her on the 1871 so far - will just have to keep looking.
I also have a Blanche Maskell aged 20, place of birth Whitechapel, on the 1891, a servant in Mile End Old Town.
I'm not too bothered about the place of birth varying - it happens all the time in my ancestry, depending on who filled in the form or gave the information, but also I'm not familiar enough with London to know where one place becomes another.
Any help on this line would be hugely appreciated.

Mine is William Maskell born 1823 in Buckinghamshire, and then moved to Berkshire by 1851 so probably no contect...
Where in Yorkshire are your Gibsons from? Mine are in Hull.

My Gibsons were from Wensleydale and go back to John Gibson who died in 1729 and his daughter Jane who married John Bushby in Aysgarth in 1702. I have no idea where the Gibson family went from there as I have been following the Bushby line and haven't really touched on the Gibsons very much.
