I'm looking for the parents of Rachel PRESTON born in Cheriton Bishop, Devon, England abt 1827

1851 census has Rachel working as servant with her soon to be husband James Butt (Thatcher)
1841 Census has Rachel as PRISTON rather than PRESTON.

Rachel married James BUTT on the 12 Jun 1852, but James last name is listed as BOTT rather than BUTT

I've tried IGI but it only lists Rachel's birth 1827 Cheriton Bishop, Devon, England - no parents listed.

I'd be grateful with any help at all in trying to figure this one out.

Have you seen this, the 1821 population for Cheriton Bishop. http://genuki.cs.ncl.ac.uk/DEV/CheritonBishop/CheritonBishop1821.html

If you scroll down to Crockernwell there is this entry, a possible to bear in mind for Rachel's parents/siblings

The Devon Family History Society's indexes have 11 children baptised to the couple mentioned in the 1821 census- go to http://www.devonfhs.org.uk/indexes.htm
