A simple question for someone with a little local knowledge. Can you tell me where Saltersford-cum-Kettleshulme is please? ???

The chapelry at Saltersford is called Saltersford-cum-Kettleshulme, and contains Kettleshulme and Rainow. It is in the parish of Prestbury.

Several years further down the pipe, the information you gave helped me greatly, so thank you very much, Stan.
I was trying to tie up a couple of loose ends re a christening of one of my ancestors; I thought I had were two different places which I now know were one and the same.
Two down, an infinite number of loose ends to go. ;)

I wonder if you encountered this place for the same reason I did, which is that findmypast have incorrectly labelled all Prestbury marriage records as Saltersford-cum-Kettleshulme :o ;D?!

Hmm! been a while since I started this topic.
I rarely use find my past, but the scenario sounds familiar. I think the information I sourced was from Family search.

Not sure why that is the case Stewart, possibly Saltersford is given as the residence of someone on the first page of the Prestbury register ::)? I am pretty sure the findmypast marriages covered back at least to the 1750s, and Saltersford didn't even have its own chapel til 1770, and marriages didn't take place there til 1865.

Several more years down the line, and I have also found a wedding of a couple of ancestors of my husband's at Saltersford - again on findmypast. This was in 1757.
Thanks for the information.
