Is anyone able to check the 1841 census for Aston, Birmingham for Louis Caesar Augustus THIERRY, son of  Louis Caesar Augustus THIERRY? He was married to Rebecca ATKINS in 1844 at Aston, and gave a residence as Aston Manor. I think the son was born about 1825. Please help if you can, I'm desparate to find more information about him. I was wondering if you were ever able to find any further information about either Louis? They are my 4th and 3rd great-grandfathers.
I have not been able to find anything on Louis Sr past a census record, and nothing about Louis Jr since he seemed to disappear during his army service in India.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Interesting link ShaunJ! It echoes what was coming up in my searches that the name was changed to Louis (sometimes Lewis) César Augustus TAYLOR. One document, a marriage to Emma Thomas Middleton gives his father as Thierry Taylor.

Hello, are you also from a descendant line? From memory I think Edward has also been used as a christian name.

Looks like Louis Ceaser Augustus changed his name to marry as Taylor.
His father is first a Professor of Languages and then a Teacher.

the 1851 census has this at Weston Road ,Weston Super Mare
Louis Thierry  64 Proff of Languages lodger born Orleons France
He's lodging wth Elizabeth Webber 29 laundress.

Looks like he's on his holidays.
