:) Hi everyone,i dont know if this is permissable.my cousin who also has now started doing her family tree, asked if i would post the address to my family tree i now have thru tribalpages.com So before i do i thought i had better make sure,i have had so much wonderful help thru this great site i'd hate to offend anyone by doing so ..She remarked that maybe posting, others of the family might see and contact,
;) Over the past few months i now, thanks to many people,i have contact with a few more of my family, plus pictures, and certs,,and i find i am getting to know lots of great aspects of my families it is so fascinating getting to know family that i never ever knew..
where they came from, their culture, and understand many things of the whys and likes and dislikes that have appeared thru out the years..
thank you all who have helped me in every way ..cheers Lynne :-*

Not sure if you would offend anyone who helped you find your information...but if you do put your tree on Tribal Pages, I recommend you make it private, so that people have to contact you and ask to see your tree after finding you in a general search. Then you can ask some questions to see how they think they are related etc.
Yes, it is nice to show the family...but be careful! I once gave a distant cousin access, and she copied all my family photos and then put them on TWO other web pages for all to see. If I had wanted them to be public I would have done it myself. She did remove them after I asked her though.
However, if you choose to show all the family, they can all have the password, but just leaving it open for all to see might lead to your hard work (and the work of others here) being 'pinched' for someone else's tree. It happens all the time.

Simply mentioning names and dates of your ancestors here on rootschat is likely to bring them to the notice of anyone googling the same names and dates.
I have been contacted by several distant cousins who've googled, found my rootschat posts and joined in order to contact me. :) Rootschat often features close to the top of googled name searches.
