Hi
I wonder if anyone can help me please. I'm looking at the marriage of William Rainbow and Elizabeth Pelvy on 11th November 1767 in Burton Dassett, Warwickshire. This information is from the IGI but can anyone tell me if the parish records would include information on whether William was born in the county. I'm hoping that this may be 'my' William Rainbow, born 1739 in Cotesbach, Leicestershire.
Any info most gratefully received.
Thank you

Hi
I looked at this mariage and it states that he was of that parish but doesn't say if he was born there.

Hi
I am also looking for info about the birth of this William, he is my husband's 4xgg. The only clue I have is a burial (parish records) of William Rainbow in the parish of Burton Dassett on 25th Feb 1819. His age on that date would mean his year of birth would be abt 1743. (That's on the assumption that this is our William and the age given at death is correct).

Hi
Can't find a birth in Burton Dassett for William, but there is one that could be him
1) William Rainbow bp. June 1744 in Lower Shuckburgh (abt. 12 miles from B D ), parents: William and Mary.
Can't make out the numerical date the image is very poor.

Hi Sheila,
Which one is your definitely your William? The Cotesbach born, 1739 or the Burton Dassett burial of 1819? 'My' William is the one from Cotesbach. Born 1739, parents William Rainbow and Phoebe (Taylor). The only information I have about him is his birth date so I'm forever looking for stray William Rainbows around Leicestershire/Warwickshire. One of the problems with this branch is that they were non-conformists so seldom turn up on parish records (the marriage of William to Phoebe is a rare exception). I've written about the non-conformism on my blog http://rainbowfamily.co.uk/archives/394. It would be great to be able to link these two.....

Hi Claire
I wasn't able to find William s marriage to Elizabeth Pelvy either but did come across a birth for an Elizabeth Plivie in Burton Dassett - father Richard and mother Elizabeth - on 28th Sept 1746, so it's in the right time frame and it's very similar to Pelvy. (FHL film no 554780) What do you think ???

Hi
I think it's quite plausible that Pelvy could be Pilvie, there were three children to Richard and Elizabeth (William, Richard and Elizabeth) in each case the image in the register is PLIVIE, although Anc* have it transcribed as PLIVA, PLIVIE, and PLURE, plus a burial for baby Richard as OLIVIE !!

Hi Paula
I believe the Burton Dassett death in 1819 is my William but I still haven't been able to establish where he was born
