I AM TRYING TO TRACE THE GOINGS ON OF MARK TAYLOR WHO WAS BORN 1872 THE SON OF JOHN TAYLOR AND HARRIET.HE MARRIED ELLEN LEMON IN 1888 AND AS FAR AS I KNOW HAD 3 OR 4 CHILDREN WITH HER.THE NEXT I THIN I CAN FIND HIM IS IN PRISON(WANDSWORTH)IN 1901.BY 1911 I THINK I HAVE THE SAME MARK BORN BARNSTAPLE AND A HAWKER WITH ANOTHER WIFE CORA MARIE AND 7 CHILDREN!!!!BUT HES NOW IN NORTH WALES!CAN ANYONE THROW ANY LIGHT ON HIM?

AT THE MOMENT ONLY THE 1981 AND 1911 CENCUSTHE 1891 CENCUS IS WHERE HE I IN PRISON,OCCUPATION LISTED AS MERCHANT SEAMAN AND HIS WIFE ELLEN AND KIDS ARE BACK LIVING WITH HER MUM.I THINK I HAVE FOUND HIM IN THE ARMY HAVING JOINED THE SOUTH WALES BORDERERS IN CARDIFF.

yeah i have the same as you for him,  but i dont have any children. i cant find him on the 1901 census or a death for Ellen (so he could remarry) hope he turns up somewhere

got him in the 1901 cencus now but he says he was born in dudley nr,birmingham!!!!!ellen lemen died 30/4/38 aged 71 in brnstaple union workhouse!he married cora marie in 1916 sept qtr in west derby so he was a bigamist!!!!!!trouble is all my living family that are connected to the taylors swear he never existed but of course records show differently!!!

all the best to you and yours aswell mike.yes he did exist.i have his marriage and death certs now.he moved to london.he married ellen lemon in 1888 and she didnt doi untyil the 30s but he also married cora maria and had kids with both women.he was a bigamist!!!!!!!can let you have details and certs if you pm me and send your email addie.love cathayb

I noticed that when Mark was in prison he stated that he was single !!!! What a rogue. Any idea why Mark was in Wandsworth, Cathay?

i  am no longer sure that this is our mark in 1901 cencus as another mark taylor was born same time in barnstaple.cant seem to find ours at all at the moment but i will and then will  let you know.regards cathayb

the ear recoirds for mark taylor are for the other mark as well.not ours!!!!ours was a merchant seaman for awhile though.

you ,me and a few others!!!!one thing is for sure he had two families and was a bigamist!!!!
