Anyone know anything about a will of James RANGER carpenter of Northiam dated 4 May 1770. Looks like he may have been buried in Northiam two years later.

Hi
I looked on the NA for a Will,no luck ,sorry
From the SFHG i found a burial date for James.
13 Jan 1772 at Northiam.
Just in you dont have it,found a marriage on the SMI.
1st May 1729,at Stone-in-Oxney,Kent
James Ranger of Northiam & Elizabeth Bayle of Stone.
Also a burial for an Elizabeth Ranger at Northiam,28 Jul 1782
Something for the back burner
On NA a Will for a James Ranger,Carpenter from Yalding,18th Jan 1843
Kind Regards

Thanks Omega - my SMI disk has stopped working so I did not know of the marriage. There are a number of children mentioned in the will who cannot be verified - the belief is they were Anabaptists and can only be identified by C of E burials or later adult baptisms.

IGI has the marriage of James Ransom & Elizabeth Bayle as 15 May 1720 which is more in keeping with my estimated births of the children. For once I forgot my Golden Rule of looking on the "Other Side of the River" (ie Kent) when it comes to my East Sussex parishes!
