Post by: davygfuchsia on Tuesday 16 November 10 09:34 GMT (UK)
Hi All .
Wondered if anyone knows where a Alexander St Kettering was .. I see there is an Alexandra St

.I have a family that shows as 5 Alexander St Kettering in 1911 cencus  But when I got a birth cert for one of the children it shoes birth at 80 Alexandra St Kettering. Feel that it not a spelling error ?

It should be Alexandra Street- the 1911 has misindexed it  ::)

If you look at the actual images you will see that all the householders have in fact written ALEXANDRA !!!

Hello,
don't know if you know Kettering or still looking for info.
The street is still there but the houses are now terraced council houses and flats. The pub Alexandra Arms is still on the corner.
Unfotunately alot of the churches were within walking distant so you have a choice.
Central Methodist is the nearest being only couple streets away.
