Two candidates [1]and [2], both William Bouch:-
[1] chr 10 May 1771 Wigton
Son of John Bouch Innkeeper at Wigton who married a Jane
The other children of this John+Jane were:
John chr 28 Apr 1769 Wigton
Elizabeth chr 1773 Wigton
Joseph chr 28 Apr 1769 Wigton
[2] married Jane Scarrow
Children were
Ann
William
both chr 27 Feb 1803 at All Saints Cockermouth
All ideas and suggestions very welcome!

They could be, but I don't think you can really tell.
There are other examples of William Bouch in Cumberland at that time:
one, son of Martin, christened 24 Apr 1773 at St James, Whitehaven (a bit further from Cockermouth than Wigton is, and in a different direction;
another, son of Lancelot, christened 6 Mar 1779 at Brigham, just outside Cockermouth.
Also an older one, b abt 1756 who married Elisabeth Langcake on 9 Sep 1779 in Wigton
and a younger one, son of John Bouch & Ann Ralton, christened 12 Jun 1805 at Allhallows, halfway between Wigton & Cockermouth.
All this from IGI. So clearly several families, may well have been related, but nothing I can see to tie down which William is yours.

Lancelot BOUCH (of Dean) to Ann STAMPER
I don't think we knew his parish before, did we?

BOUCH John of the psh (sic) of Dundraw in Bromfield psh batch a minor marr Jane READ of this psh singlewoman by licence 1764 Aug 3 (Wigton PR)

The wives names and the parish are vital when sorting out one John Bouch from the host.
Launcelot too - but only 12 of them!
