Hi
I am trying to find out about Elizabeth Cadman, born c.1820 who married William Eddowes c1840 and according to the 1851, 1861 and 1871 censuses, lived on Bilston St, Wolverhampton. Has anyone already researched Elizabeth and knows details of her birth date/place, her parents' (& other ancestors') names; and her marriage and death dates? If so, any advice appreciated.

Her marriage from freebmd is as follows www.freebmd.org.uk
Marriages September qtr 1842
Elizabeth Cadman/William Eddows Wolverhampton 17 248
The 1851 shows her birthplace as Wolverhampton
A copy of her marriage cert will give her fathers name and occupation
-
There is an IGI entry which may or not be her - without knowing her fathers name it's difficult to say
ELIZABETH CADMAN Christening: 28 MAR 1820 Saint Peter Or Collegiate, Wolverhampton, Stafford Father: HENRY CADMAN Mother: SARAH
Re: her death - have you checked freebmd?

Dear Willow and CaroleW
I'm really appreciative of all your assistance. I've been struggling at bit with this recently and your information has moved things on. My efforts weren't helped by the fact that I could not find the 1841 Census entry for the Cadmans until, after a lot of tedious checking (and with the aid of your information) :), I discovered that my search site had wrongly transcribed Cadman as Cashmore!! As if this wasn't hard enough.
My interest in Elizabeth is because she is one of my Gt Gt Grandmothers. I'm really pleased that Henry originates from Shropshire. I've never been there, nor Staffordshire, so this gives me a reason to visit both counties.
Any more information on the Shropshire Cadmans would be received with thanks.
Regards

No problem Bill
I ended up just searching for Elizabeth b 1820 +/- 2 years in Wolverhampton in the end but even I wouldnt think of looking at Cashmore!
When I get home tonight I wil have a look to see what info I have. The link for the Wolverhampton Archives site will have a lot of info on the BMD's of the family.
My website is http://hiltonfamilytree.tribalpages.com/ if you want to have a look but as I said I havent found a connection to this Henry yet. It might be that the family moved 'en masse' to Wolverhampton if the two Davies children are by his sister
Saying that on the 1861 he gives his place of birth as Oakengates, Shropshire and I know some of my partners line came from there

Dear Willow
Thats brilliant, thanks very much. I haven't looked at your web-site (but will soon) other than to glance at the public pages. I noticed lots of Cadmans but no Cashmores, thank goodness!
Kind regards

Whilst I shouldn't perhaps use this thread to talk about the Cadman family in general,I have two apparently different Cadman families that feature in my Tree.I have a descendant of a Richard Cadman given in the 1851 Census as born in Audlem Cheshire in c 1796.I also have a Martha Cadman born in 1749 in Hanmer Flintshire in my Tree.
Regards
William Russell Jones.

All Cadmans gratefully received! :D
In fact partners GGrandfather Henry Cadman married a lass from Cheshire so there must have been a cross over between Cheshire and Shropshire of the families
