My father was an unfortunate resident here from 1943 to 1947. I have read that there is a 'Buckley Hall Association'. we would like to get in touch with the association, does anyone have any information about the orphanage and/or the association.
Thank you

Rochdale is in Lancashire. There was a thread on Buckley Hall here on Rootschat (Lancashire) in 2005. You may find some information there. I googled "Buckley Hall Association" and found the thread.
Regards.

Why don't you get in touch with the Rochdale Observer newspaper.....they ran a story about the Buckley Hall Association but it was ten years ago. The Association chairman John Flanagan was aged 79 then so he may not be alive now but they may be able to help.

My grandfather and great uncle Laurence (aged 12) and Thomas Silk (aged 10) were both Buckley Hall boys from 1900. My grandfather played the euphonium in the band. I have no pictures of the time other than in the Buckley Hall book I purchased. Don't know if they are in the photos there. If anyone has any other photos I would be extremely grateful to have a copy.
