My father was Sgt Kenneth Folland, he served in 82 Squadron RAF and when posted to India he and some of his friends formed a swing band. Whilst sorting through his garage we discovered a book which is an account of all the gigs they played including appearing on All India Radio.
This is a fascinating story of their attempt to keep up morale, Dad was the drummer and keeper of the accounts.
If you have any memories of Dad and his band I would love to hear from you.

River please put this on www.rafcommands.com/forum too.
Have you thought about contacting some of the places in India to see if there is anything in the newspaper archives? Especially the English Language ones from India...
