Hi,
Can anyone tell me whether records for patients can be obtained for the White Abbey Hospice?
I have a death certificate for who I believe to be my great aunt who died at the hospice in 1914 aged 10 years. Her name was Annie Taggart and unfortunately there are no details of her parents on the death certificate other than her father was a labourer (which is correct).
She was not living with the family at the time of the 1911 census. I have searched the 1911 census, particularly in Crumlin Road, but cannot find her.
Any suggestions as to where to look next would be most welcome.
Thanks
Lorraine

Irish death certificates don't list parents (unless one of them is the informant). You could have a look at PRONI e-catalogue to see if anything is mentioned about records (they are closed until April 2011 but see e-catalogue at www.proni.gov.uk).
People in institutions (hospitals, workhouses, gaols, etc.) are listed by initial in censs returns and you can sometimes get interesting medical notes for them.
