Hi Jan
There isnt a Richard and Elizabeth Deeming in the 1861 census. I had a look on the 1851 census index and there was an Elizabeth Deeming with children.
Folio 716 Coalville?
Elizabeth Deeming 37
Joseph 10
Richard 8
Charles 6
John 2
Mary A 1
There was a burial of a Richard Deeming in 1844, perhaps this was your Richard.
I had another look on the 1861 and I think this may be your family.
RG9/2272 folio 100 page 28
Whitwick
John Rayner head mar 54 coal miner b. DBY Greesly?
Elizabeth Rayner wife mar 45 b. WAR Whatton
Richard Deman son in law 18 coal miner
charles Deman son in law 16 coal miner
JOHN RAYNER son 11
James Rayner son 7
Dinah Rayner dau 5
Sarah Rayner dau 3
All children born in Coalville
I had a look on FreeBMD and there was a birth of a John Rayner Deeming in 1848 and also a marriage of an Elizabeth Deeming to a John Rayner in the 1850"s.
Hope this helps
