Title: Finding which Hapu Completed
Post by: Mackiwi on Monday 08 November 10 19:25 GMT (UK)
Can anyone point me in the right direction to identify the correct Hapu of Ngati Awa.
I know there are several, but how do I find the correct one for a particular family.

I have Ngatiawa, Ngapotiki of Tuhoe, & Toi on the family chart given to me, but how to sort them into descending order has me confused.

Very confused Mackiwi :)

Hi Mackiwi

As well as above suggestions
have you tried direct with Ngati awa
http://www.ngatiawa.iwi.nz/cms/

Last year I found my sons hapu in Nga Puhi
sent them the ancestral tree as I knew it and they consulted records/elders and cam back and told be the hapu/marae details and subsequently have completed registrations
